My Friends

Felicity Taylor

FelicityFelicity (or Flick as we usually call her) is one of my oldest friends, we've been through so much. She's been there for me in the hardest times of my life and I love her to bits; despite the fact that she laughed at me one time when I tripped over and threw cherryade all over my white coat. We've been together since the beginning of year 4 in Junior School (that would make us eight) and the amount of personal jokes we've had along the way has been incredible. My favourite is the one from the TV show 'Allo 'Allo where one of us says "Good Moaning" and the other replies "Afternin" in mockery of the guy in the programme who can't pronounce the right vowel sounds. Another funny time we had was during prayer in assembly. They got to "thy kingdom come" and Flick went: "Cum!" and giggled, can you believe she was sixteen at the time? It made me laugh anyway, though.
Liz Ford

LizLiz Ford is amazing. She, like me, is a real nut for the Sex Pistols and Punk Rock in general; one day loads of teachers didn't turn up because they got snowed in so me and Liz sat in the common room sharing an iPod and listening to a variety of The Sex Pistols, The Ramones and The Clash. Her msn name for ages was Lizzy Rotten, Johnny's hers and Sid's mine - even though he happens to be ever so slightly dead. Oh, and we're also our own Punk duo called The Mays because both of our middle names are MAY. I had to laugh at her the other day because she was sat on this chair in the common room and she started leaning forward. Thinking that someone was pushing on the chair from behind, she turned around to look and the chair leg snapped and gave way, it was the funniest thing ever.
Steph Chan

StephSteph is an insane little Chinese girl who likes to tell everyone that she's a lesbian terrorist smurf called Tamara. In fact, it's gone so far that she even writes "love Tamara" in any birthday or Christmas cards. And the terrorist part? I once said to her: "Steph, do you consider yourself to be English or Chinese?" and she looked at me and said straight out: "Terrorist." I had to laugh. We've had some great times; me, her and Sarah sometimes go for bike rides around Pontefract park and it's a lot of fun with those two because they're both completely off-their-rockers. Oh, and she's currently in the process of getting me to buy her stuff off Ebay because she can't be bothered to make an account.
Amanda Omant

AmandaAmanda is my wacky and eccentric cousin and she's also a brilliant Graphic Designer, she got her degree in just that from Sheffield University. She really looks out for me even though she likes to call me 'Bog' and a load of other strange nicknames... One of our best times together was ice-skating in Leeds, it was so funny! It was my first time on the ice and I was pretty terrible, not to mention scared to death. At one point I was skating along, holding her hand, when I slipped and swung round and went flying straight in between her legs, we laughed our asses off. Then later I fell on her and nearly broke her arm - she was unbelievably forgiving.
Matthew Dooley

MatthewMatthew Dooley - what a character. He's very funny and very camp, we all pick on him slightly because he's so amiable. We have a real laugh in lessons and I've known him for over five years, he's such a comical person and he has all these weird mannerisms that me and Katie just have to laugh at. The other day he was late for History and Mr Daly asked us if he had an exam, Katie said: "No, he's just dawdling." Then when he came in Mr Daly said: "I've heard all about your dawdling and smoking behind the Art Block", even Mr Daly joins in. And no one calls him Matthew, his name is strictly 'Dooley', always has been. Another thing is the gay joke about him and Gareth, the idea that they are really having a secret homosexual love affair. Even Dooley plays along with it.
Ben Oldroyd

BenBen is really intelligent, yet slightly weird - but that's what everyone loves him for. He thinks Britney is awesome and that Stephen Fry is hilarious (which, of course, he is) and he doesn't care about much at all, or else he seems not to. But he's a good friend, and he lets me play with his hair which is a bonus because it is so soft. I love him for his unfaltering sarcasm and wit. He's been through a lot that people don't know about and he's had the worst of issues since he was a small kid. I just know that he's looking at A's for his final grades, even though he has days off College a lot and never does the homework - he's brilliant like that and I should hate him for it but I can't.
Kafie Hargraves

KafieKathleen Marie Hargraves is a complete legend. We met in Media and got sat together in year 10, I've rarely had so much fun. We joked about everything, we laughed about Country Bumpkins and Fireworks (personal jokes) and I told her I really fancied James Marsters so she watched when he came into Torchwood and the next day she ran into school saying: "My God, Emily, you were right he is so hot!" So that's how we ended up going to Collectormania in Milton Keynes together to meet him... and behaving like complete prats - gawping, drooling, you name it. And John Barrowman was there as well, who Kafie really fancies so another one of our jokes came about with our 'shared sandwich preferences' because we said we were going to have a sex sandwich involving us two and James Marsters and John Barrowman. Oh the joys!!!
Sam Spencer

SamSam is one of my closest friends and I know I could tell him anything. It's also great to have a guy mate who you can be sure isn't looking to get a date out of you (Sam's gay)and we've had some great laughs. I know him really well, I even knew he liked men before he did, I used to say: "I know you fancy Mr Field" who was our high school maths teacher, and when it came out he did. I was also one of the first people he told. It was really obvious for along time because he used to do this Barbie Girl dance and wiggle his butt; I love him to bits. At the certificate evening for GCSE, me and him snuck off into the sixth form common room and he told me all about his boyfriend, Liam, he's a sick ass though because he said: "he cries" and I went: "what? he cries?" "yeah, he cries because I'm so big" and that was the moment my Mum walked round the corner. Hahaha.
Ross Ratcliffe

RossI met Ross in year eight Chemistry, I got talking to him mainly because he was alone and had just moved from another school. We've been friends ever since. He's really pervy but in a funny way and he's also a maths whiz without even trying. We sit together in Maths now, and we have a great time but he always comes out with these completely random and funny sayings like: "eggs, milk and flour... pancake power!" he's a total nutcase. And he does a crazy Michael Jackson impression, which is basically a high-pitched voice going "yeehee!" We have these insane battles of sadness, like who can name the most Pokemon or who was better at playing Final Fantasy. He's like that; he's a Runescape junkie.
Sarah Cowell

SarahSarah has been an awesome friend, I don't know where I'd have been at times without her. We have this amazing long-running joke stemming from when she stepped on Miss Ryland's foot and the time when she threw a Dildo at my head, basically one of us says: "Dildo" and the other replies: "Miss Ryland's foot". We don't even go to the same College anymore, she's at New College and I'm at St Wilfrid's but we keep in touch over facebook and still say our little joke in a 'p.s.' note at the bottom of the message. Once she came to my Grandad's and we were playing 'Popcorn' on the trampoline and her head nearly hit the side; I said: "Sarah, it's near your head" and she jumped up screaming and running around because she thought I meant a spider or some nasty bug. I laughed insanely.
