Welcome to Emily The Vampire Slayer, my name is Emily (surprised?) & this is my personal webspace that is free for me to say as I like in. You don't agree with my ramblings? That's fine, leave. I'm not out to offend or upset anyone but, like most, I'm very opiniated... that can often get in the way of my desire to be friends with everyone I meet because I won't drop my beliefs for anyone. Why should I? But feel free to take a look around and comment my blogs. Any questions, issues or complaints can be addressed here.
Back On A Bumpy Track
25.05.09 Hello people of the world wide web who have taken the time to visit my site. I am officially on holiday now... well, I'm still at home but I'm not at college which is always good because I am lazy and largely not a fan of work. We have an owner for one of the kittens now (the tortoise shell one) and someone is interested in the all black cat (or Othello to us, of course). I'll be really sad to see them leave but there's no way we could manage in a household with a dog and five cats, that's obviously not mentioning slightly hyperactive brother and give-me-what-I-want-or-I'll-start-to-cry sister. By the way, since my last blog I have completed two critical thinking exams, one English Literature and two maths. The first three could have been worse, the last two couldn't have been; quite literally, I have just sat there and handed myself a 'U' in both Maths exams because I couldn't do it. And I mean any of it. I know I love sarcasm and over-exaggerating and all that malarkey but I have seriously been lucky to pick up one single bloody mark in those two whole goddamn exams. Anyway, as I said before, it hardly came as any surprise.
I am wondering what I'm supposed to do when I go back into College. Our head of year said that we had to come in everyday until we had completed our last exam... but that's just ridiculous for me because I have one history on the Tuesday next week, another history on the Wednesday of the following week and a final maths on the monday of the week after that. I'm sorry but I'm going to refuse to come in for a full five days, 36 hours when I only have one exam that lasts less than two hours in each week. What am I supposed to do? Sit twiddling my thumbs in the study? They always tell you that you shouldn't do any more than two hours revision a day and that's the absolute maximum, so I'm going to be there on my todd for five hours, three of which remain totally unaccounted for and that's only if I decide to squeeze out 2 hours revision every single day (fat chance).
In good and sehr cool news, my cousin Amanda who I've mentioned before has got her own place; it's so cool, it's this apartment in the Queen's Hotel and it even has a spire. A spire! So I will be staying with her whenever she'll let me, which will probably be a lot while she gets used to it. Today, on the other hand, was less than exciting. We, that is me, my mum, Jake and Chelsey, did a table-top sale at the Lee Brigg club and about five people came. Haha, it's almost funny really. Except it wasn't because I made myself get up especially and denied myself the lie-ins I need in the holidays. Hehe. Tomorrow should be better, I'm going to Leeds and will be taking a nice little trip to Forbidden Planet to feed my Buffy fetish. Does it sound a little too weird calling it a fetish? Like there's some kind of kinky ritual involved? Oo-er, there isn't, honestly. And maybe, just maybe, I will get a strawberry and banana smoothie and my life shall be complete. And then tomorrow night I'm going to the cinema with Amanda and Trev to see Angels and Demons, I have heard it's crap, but hey, we shall see... and on Friday I'm going out with my gang of rebel-nations and cool people to Xscape, probably to see Night At the Museum 2. Rebel-nations, in case you were flooded with curiosity, is a word made up by one such rebel-nation called Matthew Dooley - basically, it's a rebel but even better... yep, we are sad and have virtually no lives.
And, and, I have been hunting down the new Harry Potter movie trailers. Your best bet is harrypotter.co.uk or else Youtube. To be honest, Harry Potter was never a major fandom for me. I like it of course, both the books and the films, because no one can deny it is work of sheer brilliance but I felt no need to obsess over it in say the way I did with Buffy and the Whedonverse, I never applied for the fanlistings or anything; I was content to just like the books and like the films without making myself a Potter shrine or writing slash fanfic about Harry and Ron or whoever. But besides all this, I am looking forward to the new film, the trailer is here by the way but I'd check out the websitee as well if you're curious because there are better ones:
Oh, and I can now offer hosting. I do have to run it by my host so she can set up the accounts but Spencer's a star, she'll have them set up quickly if anyone is interested. I know there's also the issue of me having an extremely long domain name, sorry if it bothers you but it's tough luck, I love my domain name :). If you are interested, send me an email to jmgroupe@hotmail.co.uk and we can discuss it some more. This is completely off topic now but I'd just like to drop in the url of this website called Sporcle, you may have heard of it, I don't know but it is so amazingly addictive... I won't waste time trying to explain it, just trust me - go check it out!
Righty then, on site news: I have closed another load of fanlistings unfortunately and received an app for my Eastenders fanlisting which I'm currently considering. I got approved for the Lord Piccolo fanlisting (yay!) and I'm waiting to here back about York and some recent Buffy episode applications I made. Also, I have updated my wishlist so it looks a lot neater and added a soundtrack section to my owner page. This is an idea I saw on ArtisticChardon, Heather's site, and I fell in love with it immediately. The final thing I am going to do is something I used to do all the time, with most blogs in fact, and I haven't done it in ages. If you visited my website before - do you remember my wishlists? They mainly focused on Buffy items I was lusting after for my collection. Well, I need one again to help me keep track of what I want and what I get. So here goes:
