Welcome to Emily The Vampire Slayer, my name is Emily (surprised?) & this is my personal webspace that is free for me to say as I like in. You don't agree with my ramblings? That's fine, leave. I'm not out to offend or upset anyone but, like most, I'm very opiniated... that can often get in the way of my desire to be friends with everyone I meet because I won't drop my beliefs for anyone. Why should I? But feel free to take a look around and comment my blogs. Any questions, issues or complaints can be addressed here.

Are you a shipper? I do mean in the annoying web-language type sense as in supporting some couple in a TV show or movie or whatever. I hate the words used for them like 'shipping' and 'otp' which means 'one true pair' in case you were wondering... but sometimes when I'm on the Internet and I see an icon with one of my favourite couples on it, I'm like: "Oh yes, my OTP!" And then I realise what I've said and feel slightly sick. But I do have weird obsessions with TV couples because, hey, when you're single like me you simply need to have someone to scream "get in there" to. It's a disease. But seeing as I have been sad enough to spend my evening looking up Chuck/Blair videos on Youtube, I thought I would be sad enough to blog about my favourite 'ships'.

I love Spuffy. They are just the perfect couple because they are so not perfect! It's ridiculous but I wanted them to be together right from the start, even when Spike was supposedly evil. All their violent fights and sex made for amazing TV and I just adore Spike's journey from evil vampire to someone so in love he went through torturous trials to earn his soul for Buffy to make her love him. It's so sad at the end when he dies to save them all and the last words they exchange are, Buffy: "I Love You." Spike: "No you don't, but thanks for saying it." Well, I'm no romantic but that broke my heart. I much prefer Buffy's relationship with Spike over the one with Angel because Spike loved Buffy even when he was a soulless vampire, whereas Angel could not.

Anya and Xander are an amazingly funny and quirky couple with the irony being in that Xander has always attracted girls that were either witches or bugs or had some weird mystical side and finally ended up with Anya who is a vengeance demon. Their relationship is rocky and there is a really sad episode where Xander leaves Anya at the alter because he can't go through with it. In the final episode of the whole series, Anya is killed protecting Andrew; when Xander asks Andrew what happened to her, Andrew tells him: "she died saving my life" Xander looks sad for a minute and then replies with: "That's my girl, always doing the crazy thing." They are just such a great couple with their constant bickering and the first time they sleep together with Anya's abrupt seduction technique of simply dropping her clothes in Xander's basement.

Willow and Tara are one of those couples who you can't stand to see fighting (unlike Spike and Buffy) and you love to see all happy together. I hate the really sad part at the end of Tabula Rasa where 'Goodbye To You' plays and Tara packs and leaves Willow while she's sat crying on the bathroom floor. But I do love it when they're together and using all the little sex metaphors when talking about magic. It's awful when Tara dies and Willow goes on a crazy rampage to avenge her death, it's particularly heartbreaking when Willow says: "He took her light away." Their very first connection when they meet at a wiccan group at college is wonderful, like they immediately understand each other.
